Authors introduction

In 1999, J-Claude and Nadege met in the USA in Lafayette, Louisiana. They share common ideas concerning marketing and decided to translate J-Claude’s last French book and to transform it to make it match American’s society and economy specificities. After the two met, they worked together and wrote the present book in English, taking into account the many evolutions seen in these last years in the context of American Society. Without Nadege’s collaboration, you would not be able to read the American Version of this book.

Dedicates

My first dedication is to the one I married, without whom none of the presented experiences would have been possible.
The second I send to those to whom I teach Practical Marketing. They gave me a great hand at analyzing the data and at setting up methods.
As you know college is the only environment where you have time, no strict deadlines, and no budget constraints.
Finally, to my clients and partners in business who taught me to always be dynamic, open minded, and curious, in this funny type of job where only those being short minded can still believe that they know something for sure.

This is why I dedicate this book to Joelle, my college students and all the SOCORA partners.

To my Grandfather

Nadege Woods

Nadege Woods Born in 1973 in France, Nadege has always had a traveler’s mind. After visiting over 25 countries in Europe and in Africa, and after completing her studies in France, she decided to further her education by entering the MBA Program at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

Since watching John Ford ride his horse into the sunset of the Mullissan Valley, she has dreamed of visiting the US to photograph its National Parks.

After fulfilling this passion, she would later fall in love with another American beauty. In 1999 Mickilon and Nadege were married at Faussee Point State Park.

Nadege currently teaches economics at Louisiana State University and she is finishing her Ph.D. in Economics.
